I am Shalini Amanna. I am working as a staff nurse in Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital, Udupi since 5 years. I graduated from Redfern Memorial (Mission) Hospital, Hassan in the year 1992-1994. As I like this profession, I opted for it. Therefore, it was my desire to choose this way of service. God has fulfilled my ambition. It was only possible because of my mother who is no more in this world and whom I remember always. I had joined as a staff nurse in August 1994. The doctor who was serving there has taught us regarding the required way of communicating with the patients and the way of treating the patients. I received lots of appreciation from the doctors, though I had to leave the place of my job due to my marriage, after serving for six years. After my marriage I served for ten years in Mumbai, involving myself in all the departments. I came back to my native place in 2010 and joined LMH in 2011. Now I am working as staff nurse in the Operation Theatre. I feel proud to serve in the hospital where I was born. In deep our mission hospital is known for its service and the love it propagates. I have personally experience this in the hospital. We indeed give a good patient care in this hospital. All the doctors and the staff are good and dedicated. This is the hospital that I liked the most compared to any other hospitals. I am ready to serve in whatever possible way I can. And I look forward to continue it. I praise God for all the help he has extended to me.

I am Esther Suveena Jathanna. I completed my GNM nursing course in LMH School of nursing during the year 1996-1999. I started my career in the Medical ward and later continued to work in OT, anaesthesia and NICU. I worked till my first pregnancy were these days were very memorable. The support I received while learning new procedures and nursing care from senior staff nurses were truly helpful in moulding me the way I am now. The daily prayers in our chapel always helped me to reduce my stress and sustain my inner peace. The culture of Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital and my interest on continuing to work, made me to rejoin LMH in December 15 2007. The management, administration, staffs, senior staffs and Doctor’s were truly supportive. Thereafter, I rendered my service in casualty, medical ward, dialysis and labour ward. All these experiences satisfied me as a nurse. The best thing, which I liked about this hospital is that along with the treatment, nursing care, the interpersonal relationship and communication with the patient helped their speedy recovery. This hospital have conducted several community camps such as eye camps, medical camps, where I got the opportunity to be a part of, which in turn made me more knowledgeable and confident. I am grateful for all the opportunities that this hospital has provided in nurturing me as a nurse. I pray to God that the hospital reach greater heights and continue to be the best hospital in providing the care to all the needy.

I was admitted on 3rd May 2017 for lower abdomen pain. All the doctors and nurses were fantastic. Everyone were caring and polite throughout my stay. I was kept well informed regularly about my progress and was also provided with the best advice on discharge with clear instructions.
