The School of Christian Service continued to train nurses but there was a need for having a School with Government recognition. In 1967, an AN.M training School was started and it was recognized by the State Government. In connection with this, Antenatal Clinic and field work were started in the nearby village of Korangrapadi, which is continuing with many improvements In l1967, a new building for the Nursing school was opened, housing office room, class rooms, library and Tutors Quarters, in Korangrapadi, a Maternity and Child Welfare Centre was opened in 1967. A new building for this centre, to house CRECHE in addition was completed and inaugurated on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee. The last Batch of ANM completed their Course in 1981.

In 1980 permission to start the course in General nursing and Midwifery was Obtained from the Karnataka Nursing Council, and the first batch of G.N.M course was started in January 1981.

To show forth the love of God as manifested in Jesus Christ by ministering to the sick, regardless of caste and creed and by endeavouring in every possible way to promote the health of the people among whom we work.

PREAMBLE

The hospital was established on 15th June, 1923 with only six inpatient bed. In those days, women patients had no access to Medical aid provided by male doctors. Dr Eva Lombard, a medical missionary from Geneva, Swirtzerland, deeply moved by the plight of Indian women during the illness and confinement, started this Hospital, exclusively for women and children. In 1951, when the need was felt, a male ward was also added.
