1. Model preparation competition on the theme I.e. Closing the gap: Breastfeeding support for all and Important & Issues of breast feeding.
On behalf of world breast feeding week 2024, Lombard Memorial College of Nursing had organized model preparation competition on the theme as well as on importance & issues of breast feeding .Total of 10 groups had participated enthusiastically. Students from B.Sc. Nursing III & IV year II & III GNM had participated. 1st and 2nd prize was bagged by III GNM students and 3rd prize was bagged by IV B.Sc. nursing students. Dr. Deepa Rao consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology, LMH Dr. Dhanjay, LMH Dr. Megha, Medical officer, Kukkikatte PHC and Sr. Shanthi Fernandes Nursing Superintendent had judged the competition the competition was held on 03/08/2024 at 3.00pm.
Role play on Importance & Issues of breast feeding.
Student of 3rd,4th B.Sc. Nursing and 2nd ,3rd GNM had organized a role play and delivered information to the antenatal mother, postnatal mother and their families about importance and issues of breast feeding on 05/08/2024 between 10.00am-12.00noon. Dr. Deepa Rao, consultant OBG, Lombard Memorial Hospital was the chief guest for the programs. The program me alerted with a prayer song from 4th year B.Sc. Nursing students, followed by a role play by 3rd year B.Sc. Nursing& 2nd GNM students. Models prepared by students on breast feeding were kept for public viewing with the hope to create awareness among the public. Ms. Megha S.K 4th B.Sc. Nursing had mastered the program me and vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Pavithra 4th B.Sc. Nursing. Students of 4th 3rd B.Sc. Nursing, 2nd 3rd GNM and all the faculty of both college and school of Nursing were the active participants of the event. The program me ended at 11.00am.

Program me Highlights: Upon arrived at kemmannu church hall the participants & the program me organizers were greeted with the heartwarming mild breakfast setting tone for an engaging and enlighting program me.
The event commenced with the gracious introduction of esteemed guest whose presence added prestige to the program me & also welcoming of the pregnant women who joined programs me later. The programme started with the short role play by B.Sc. Nursing students which includes importance of exclusive breast feeding to a child for month & foods which help to increase the breast milk production .And a small informative take about breast milk bank and use of breast pumps was given by Dr. Geeta. The Programme and with giving iron supplements for pregnant mothers.
